Its own survey found that a large proportion of companies surveyed agreed that the existing agreement was impeding business expansion.

A range of additional sectors could, potentially, see a comparable strategy – harmonisation with EU regulations – in as a trade-off for minimising post-exit friction across production, in the car industry, pharmaceuticals, or for example in arrangements for VAT.

European Perception

European capitals were underwhelmed by the lack of ambition in earlier discussions, specifically the London's refusal of ideas advanced by some analysts regarding the virtual readmission of British exports to the single market.
