The UK is prepared to move forward with using the full worth of frozen Russian holdings to support Ukraine's war effort, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a shared declaration, the officials of the UK, the French Republic, and Germany stated that this unified step would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel Moscow to come to the table.

They clarified that the initiative would be carried out in strong partnership with the US.

British restrictions have blocked more than £25bn of Russia's funds since Moscow launched its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, up to this point, funds provided to Ukraine using Russia's holdings had solely been sourced from profits and interest earned on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their aim to advance efforts toward using the full value of the immobilized Russia's state assets to conclude the conflict.

He stated that more restrictions in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on Moscow.

This announcement comes after EU officials met in Copenhagen recently to consider using seized Russia's funds for a 140-billion-euro credit to Ukraine.

Recently, President Donald Trump urged Group of Seven partners to seize or otherwise use frozen Russian holdings, based on media sources.

The worth of frozen Russia's assets in the European Union is calculated to be nearly €211bn.

Moscow executed widespread aerial attacks all over Ukraine on that day, resulting in electricity outages in significant regions of the capital city, Kyiv, and several other zones.

Two people were lost their lives and a minimum of 20 people were hurt in the attack, authorities in Ukraine reported.

In a update on X after the strike, Zelensky stated that the cynical and calculated attack focused on public and utility structures.

"What is required is not mere statements but concrete steps - from the US, EU, and the G7 - in providing defense mechanisms and enforcing restrictions," he emphasized.

"Every sanction decision weakens Russia's war machine," Zelensky declared, in a additional update.

In the same period, Zelensky told the press he would press Sir Keir to join the Purl program, under which Nato countries buy weapons from the America to provide to Ukraine.

While commending the UK's consistent assistance for the Ukrainian government, he said it should indicate firmly that it would participate in the system, as well as impose additional measures on Russia.
