Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes across the region in response for a "massive" and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Missile Defenses Activated

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - reported they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

It said missile fragments landed in a residential area in the capital, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
