England's Coach Tim Southee Unsure on The Ashes Participation
The bowler's most recent Test match for New Zealand was versus England in the final month of 2024.
England bowling consultant Southee is still working through what his involvement will be at the upcoming Ashes series in the host nation.
The ex- Kiwi seamer is expected to be available for the opening match because of his involvement in the International League T20 tournament, which starts on December 2 in the UAE.
Southee, 36, assumed a position as the English team's pace bowling advisor in the warmer months after taking 391 scalps in 107 Tests for the Kiwis.
Commenting as England's team for the first of three Twenty20 games against the Kiwis was named, Southee said of his participation: "We are still evaluating that at the moment.
"We will determine the outcome over the next little while."
English pace icon Broad had stated the Australian side as their "worst team since 2010", but the consultant was in no uncertainty over the anticipated challenge during the contest, which begins on November 21.
"I don't think there's ever a bad Australian cricket team," Southee said.
"Our focus is firmly on what we're trying to do. In my opinion the quality of [England's] side that's heading out to the host country is excellent.
"It should be an absolute cracker, that series. Not just [are|do] fans from both nations looking forward to it, I believe the entire cricketing community is."
But, prior to the English team travel to Perth for the opening Ashes Test, they face New Zealand in the city of Christchurch on this Saturday.
