Emma Raducanu made it to the third stage in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slams during the season.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her remaining competitions of the year as a result of the illness that has affected her for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old was due to play in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to rest and recuperate before starting plans for the 2026 season.

Those preparations will include coach Francisco Roig, as they will keep partnering again next season.

The tennis professional had her blood pressure taken in her opening round against Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She again required a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in round one.

Raducanu was also moving far from freely in the final set versus Zhu due to a lower back issue that has been a concern at times this year.

Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the top 30 globally for the first time in more than three years, concluded with three straight losses.

Raducanu had three match points prior to falling to Jessica Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.

She secured twenty-eight matches during 2025 and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but her most impressive week was at the Miami Open in March.

Ranked first in Britain made the last eight of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route before losing in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She was coached by trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over for the US Open.

The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in late this year.

Raducanu told that her three-day trial with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

The player was close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati during August.

Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
